A native of Carrigara, Leyte, Benjamin R. Yngente was born on October 1, 1951. Leonora Nocum, the vice president of Banking and Finance in Trinity College, caught his heart and their marriage vows were blessed with four children, three boys and a girl.
Dr. Yngente graduated in Trinity College, Quezon City with degrees in BSBA Major in Economics, and in Banking and Finance. He also finished a Masters degree in Business Management and a Doctoral degree in Education in his Alma Mater.
Afer graduation, he was appointed as Assistant Dean of Trinity College in 1980 and became a faculty member. He was also the program manager in the Total Quality Systems Development program. He became the vice president for operation branch of the Philippine Army Cooperative. After this, he took up Masters in Applied Business Economics in CRC - Center of Research Communication for Asia and the Pacific.
With these qualifications, Dr. Yngente took part in the institution's history when the school Board of Trustees appointed him to replace Dr. Marilyn Ngales in 2004. He was officially installed as the 2nd President on September 3, 2005.
